Mumbai Schedules Three-Day, 10% Water Cut for Oct. 7–9 in Island City and Eastern Suburbs

BMC says the brief reduction will facilitate installation of 100 kW electric meters at the Pise–Panjrapur treatment complex.

Overview

  • The meter upgrade work is slated from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm each day, with supply reduced across the three-day window.
  • Affected wards include A, B, E, F-North and F-South in the island city, and L, M-East, M-West, N, S and T in the eastern suburbs.
  • Residents in listed areas are advised to store sufficient water in advance and use it judiciously during the cut.
  • The Pise–Panjrapur complex near Bhiwandi is reported to supply about 55% of Mumbai’s water, increasing the reach of any maintenance there.
  • Officials said normal supply will be restored once the scheduled work is completed.
