Overview
- NHSRCL, MMRDA and MMRCL have launched detailed design reviews for a 1.1-kilometre underground tunnel with travelators to link the BKC bullet train terminus and Metro Line 3’s Kotak-BKC station.
- Plans include a foot over bridge to connect the bullet train station’s road-level concourse to Metro Line 2B’s IL&FS station less than 50 metres away.
- Engineering teams estimate the tunnel will cost between ₹100 crore and ₹150 crore depending on the final alignment and design.
- Excavation for the BKC station is about 80 percent complete and overall construction has reached 20 percent with base slab casting underway.
- Final integration modalities for seamless transfers are expected to be locked in ahead of the station’s September 2027 commissioning deadline.
