Mumbai Railway Police Return 1,018 Stolen Phones After Multi-State Crackdown

A two-phase GRP drive deployed 57 teams across 17 states using technical tracing with telecom support to track devices moved through organised networks.

  • Phase one in June–July traced 684 phones worth ₹1,11,39,626, setting up an expanded second phase that pursued cases from 2023 to 2025 between September and November.

  • A total of 57 teams from the Central and Western zones investigated across 17 States/UTs, including Diu and Daman, intercepting devices routed through trafficking networks.
