Mumbai Police Roll Out Traffic Curbs for Jan 15–16 BMC Polls

Police outlined one-way routes, parking bans and access controls with detours to safeguard EVM logistics and keep polling and counting operations running smoothly.

Overview

  • In Goregaon West, the stretch from Unnat Nagar No. 2 to Kamubaba Road Junction will operate one-way from 7 am on January 14 until midnight on January 16, with vehicles advised to route via a left, then right at Kamubaba Chowk and proceed on S.V. Road.
  • A designated strong room is set up at Municipal School, Unnat Nagar No. 2 on S.V. Road to handle EVM distribution and post-poll collection for Ward Nos. 50 to 58.
  • In Borivali East, Appasaheb Sidhaye Marg will be a no-parking zone from 7 am on January 13 to midnight on January 16, and additional entry restrictions apply on January 16 for counting day, with Abhinav Nagar Roads 1, 3, 4, 5 and 6 marked as alternatives.
  • Veera Desai Road from J.P. Road Junction to Mogra Nala will be closed to non-election vehicles from 7 am on January 14 to 10 pm on January 16, with detours via Courtyard Junction, Chitrakoot Junction and New Link Road.
  • Separate infrastructure moves include northbound restrictions on C.D. Barfiwala Road during flyover pillar work and a full closure on the Veera Desai Road stretch over the unsafe Mogra Nala bridge until reconstruction.
