A social media post on platform X warned of potential Hindu-Muslim riots, arson, and bomb blasts in Dongri during Eid, allegedly involving illegal Rohingya, Bangladeshi, and Pakistani infiltrators.
Mumbai Police have increased patrolling and conducted search operations in Dongri but have not detected any suspicious activities so far.
The cyber cell has initiated a technical probe to trace the individual behind the threatening post, which also tagged Navi Mumbai Police.
Authorities have reassured citizens of robust security measures, with multiple agencies, including the Crime Branch and Anti-Terrorism Squad, on heightened vigilance.
A similar warning was sent to Delhi Police, raising concerns about broader inter-city implications ahead of the festive season.
