Mumbai Police have registered a case against unidentified individuals for the unauthorized distribution of 'Chhaava' through 1,818 internet links.
The case, filed under laws including the Copyright Act and Information Technology Act, is being investigated by the South Region Cyber Police, who are tracking IP addresses linked to the piracy.
Rajat Rahul Haksar, CEO of August Entertainment, an anti-piracy agency hired by Maddock Films, filed the complaint citing the piracy's impact on theatrical distribution.
'Chhaava', starring Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, has grossed over ₹769 crore globally, becoming one of Bollywood's highest-earning films.
