Mumbai Police Files Chargesheet in Baba Siddique Murder Case, Names 29 Accused

The 4,590-page chargesheet details the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was shot on October 12, 2024, outside his son's office in Bandra, Mumbai.
Anmol Bishnoi, a fugitive gangster and brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, is accused of orchestrating the murder to assert supremacy in the Mumbai underworld and spread terror.
The chargesheet names 26 arrested individuals and three wanted suspects, including Bishnoi, Mohammed Yasin Akhtar, and Shubham Lonkar, as key conspirators.
Police recovered weapons, ammunition, and mobile phones, and included statements from 180 witnesses to build the case under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
Initial plans to target actor Salman Khan were abandoned due to his security, leading to Siddique being chosen as the target instead.
