Mumbai Police Bust Interstate Heroin Network, Arrest Nine in Rs 36.7 Crore Seizure

Investigators say technical surveillance connected street arrests to an Oshiwara flat where a large consignment was seized, as they search for suspected supplier Mehraban Ali.

  • Police report seizing about 8.832 kg of heroin valued at roughly Rs 36.55 crore, along with Rs 8.26 lakh in cash, a car and 12 mobile phones, taking total seized property to about Rs 36.74 crore.
  • The probe began on December 16 with two arrests at Masjid Bunder and 326.22 grams of heroin recovered, which led to Rubina Khan, Shabnam Shaikh traced to Ajmer, and Muskan Shaikh.
  • On December 24, officers detained Abdul Qadir Sheikh with heroin worth approximately Rs 1.38 crore following technical surveillance.
  • A subsequent raid at an Oshiwara residence found three men allegedly packing narcotics, where heroin valued at Rs 33.86 crore was recovered.
  • Six men and three women have been arrested under NDPS provisions, and police say the search continues for alleged kingpin Mehraban Ali and other network links.
