• Navi Mumbai Police activated a Panvel–Konkan traffic plan through August 26 with 62 officers and about 700 personnel managing Sion–Panvel and other highways.
• Konkan-bound vehicles can receive toll exemption only via a special pass issued at traffic outposts and local police stations upon presenting a driver’s license and vehicle documents.
• Support infrastructure includes three help centres with first aid and ambulances, five facilitation centres with washrooms, 11 cranes, 14 mechanics for breakdowns, and 22 beat marshals for quick decongestion.
• Officials estimate roughly 3,500 MSRTC buses will depart from Mumbai and Thane for Konkan during the festival period, increasing pressure on key corridors.
• Mumbai Police announced festival traffic orders for August 27–September 6 that mandate Coastal Road use for north–south flows, detail Eastern Freeway/Atal Setu alternates, set temporary closures near Worli Naka and Shingte Master Junction, expand suburban curbs, and impose no-parking zones with ROB safety rules.
