Overview
- Metro Lines 2A (Dahisar East–DN Nagar) and 7 (Dahisar East–Gundavali) recorded over 200 million passenger journeys in 39 months of operation.
- Daily ridership peaked at more than 300,000 commuters on July 8, 2025.
- Since opening in April 2022, the corridors advanced from about 19,500 day-one riders to 10 million in nine months, 100 million in 25 months and 150 million in 33 months.
- Officials say the lines have cut commute times by over half, offered safe air-conditioned travel and reduced road congestion and vehicle emissions.
- Plans are underway to integrate the network with the Mumbai One smart ticketing app and link it to suburban rail and bus services for improved last-mile connectivity.
