Metro Line 3 Launches, Transforming City Commutes

The newly inaugurated underground Aqua Line connects Aarey Colony to Bandra Kurla Complex, reducing travel times and easing congestion.

Mumbai Metro Line 3, also known as the Aqua Line, officially opened to the public, offering a 12.5 km route from Aarey JVLR to Bandra Kurla Complex.
The first phase includes 10 stations, with nine underground, enhancing connectivity for key commercial and residential areas.
Commuters praised the metro for its speed, comfort, and modern amenities, although minor technical issues were reported on the first day.
The line is expected to reduce road traffic by 35% and save approximately 3.54 lakh liters of fuel annually, with fares ranging from ₹10 to ₹50.
Once fully operational, the entire 33.5 km corridor will cater to an estimated 17 lakh passengers daily, significantly impacting Mumbai's transportation landscape.
