Mumbai Metro Line 3 Introduces RuPay Contactless Mobility Card

Overview

  • MMRC launched the RuPay National Common Mobility Card on Metro Line 3 on June 10 in collaboration with NPCI and SBI.
  • Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis led the unveiling at Mantralaya alongside Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar.
  • Commuters can tap the same card on Lines 1, 2A, 3 and 7 as well as on compatible services such as Chalo Bus for a unified journey.
  • New users receive the card free of charge at any Line 3 station or participating SBI branch, topping up between Rs 100 and Rs 2 000.
  • The rollout advances Mumbai’s smart transport goals by speeding up station entry and reducing ticketing queues.
