Overview

• The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) has started final inspections on the BKC–Acharya Atre Chowk segment of Mumbai Metro 3's Aqua Line.
• This 9.77-km stretch includes major stations like Dharavi, Dadar, Siddhivinayak, and Worli, and features an engineering achievement with its route beneath the Mithi River.
• If safety clearances are granted, the segment could open for public use as early as this weekend or early next week.
• The Aqua Line partially launched in October 2024, covering a 12.69 km stretch between Aarey JVLR and BKC, with the final extension to Cuffe Parade expected by July 2025.
• The project aims to improve connectivity across Mumbai with 16 underground stations and a one-way fare of ₹60 from Aarey JVLR to Acharya Atre Chowk.
