Overview
- Monthly passengers more than doubled after the October 9 opening of the Worli–Cuffe Parade stretch, rising from 19.7 lakh in September to 38.63 lakh in October, then to 44.58 lakh in November and 46.56 lakh in December.
- Average weekday usage climbed from about 75,000 before completion to 1.23 lakh in October, 1.32 lakh in November and 1.48 lakh in December, according to MMRCL data.
- The line recorded its highest single-day ridership on October 16, when 1.82 lakh commuters used the corridor.
- Operational changes include increasing Saturday services from 209 to 236 trips, with Sundays continuing at 198 trips.
- MMRCL is rolling out Cityflo bus links at stations such as BKC, Worli, Aarey JVLR and CSMT with fares starting at Rs 9 and peak frequencies around every 10 minutes to strengthen last-mile access.
