Mumbai Marathon Adds Coastal Road to 2026 Route for First Time

Race planners outline entry and exit points on the expressway for both distances.

Overview

  • The Jan. 18 Tata Mumbai Marathon will incorporate the Coastal Road alongside the Bandra–Worli Sea Link for full and half marathons.
  • Full marathoners enter the northbound Coastal Road from Haji Ali toward the Sea Link, then re-enter around 30 km at Bindu Madhav Thackeray Chowk and exit near 33 km at Acharya Atre Junction.
  • Half marathoners keep the usual outbound leg but will use the southbound Coastal Road on the return from Worli Sea Face.
  • Organisers report record participation with about 69,100 registrants, including roughly 65,400 on-ground runners and 14,059 in the full marathon.
  • Elite runners start and finish at CSMT with category-specific start points across events, as Mumbai Police, MCGM, MSRDC and the state government coordinate traffic management and safety.
