• A 22-year-old karate instructor was arrested Monday night in Central Mumbai on allegations of sexually abusing a 12-year-old student since January
• Police say he threatened to sexually assault the girl’s mother if the minor disclosed the abuse, compelling her to remain silent until her reluctance to attend classes raised concern
• During his court appearance, the instructor was remanded in police custody for four days and formally charged under sections 4, 8, and 12 of POCSO and sections 64, 65(1), and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita
