Mumbai Inaugurates First Elevated Nature Walkway at Malabar Hill
The eco-friendly 485-meter trail offers panoramic views, rich biodiversity, and regulated public access to a rediscovered forest after 40 years.
- The Malabar Hill Elevated Nature Walkway, inspired by Singapore's 'Tree Top Walk,' officially opened to the public on March 30, 2025.
- Spanning 485 meters, the trail features a wooden pathway with sea-viewing decks and panoramic views of Girgaon Chowpatty and the Mumbai coastline.
- Developed by the BMC at a cost of Rs. 26 crores, the project preserves a 2.5-acre forest with over 100 species of plants, birds, and reptiles.
- An Access Control System limits capacity to 400 visitors at a time, with online ticketing available for Rs. 25 for Indian citizens and Rs. 100 for foreigners.
- The initiative aims to balance eco-tourism and environmental preservation, offering an immersive experience in nature while protecting the forest habitat.
