Overview
- Customs reported two new Bangkok-linked drug cases, recovering 5.922 kg and 12.017 kg of suspected hydroponic marijuana from passengers’ luggage and food packets.
- Three passengers were arrested in the latest operations under the NDPS Act after officers uncovered drugs in a checked trolley bag and inside chocolate and chips packets.
- In a separate case, a Dubai arrival was found with eight crude 24K gold bangles weighing 225 grams concealed on the body, valued at ₹25.64 lakh.
- Earlier operations from November 6–8 netted four hydroponic weed consignments totaling 2.87 kg, 4.02 kg, 3.99 kg and 2.94 kg from Thailand routes, valued at about ₹14 crore, with arrests made.
- Another interception involved a Nairobi passenger carrying 22K melted gold bars weighing 358 grams valued at ₹37.74 lakh, with officials attributing the seizures to specific intelligence and profiling.
