Mumbai Climate Week Set for Feb. 17–19, 2026, With Global South Focus

The citizen-led forum will convene Global South delegates to co-develop practical plans across food systems, energy transition, urban resilience.

Overview

  • Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the three-day conference for Feb. 17–19, 2026 at the Jio World Convention Centre in BKC.
  • Project Mumbai will organise the event in partnership with Maharashtra’s environment department and with support from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
  • Delegations from more than 30 countries are expected, with participation emphasized from Africa, Latin America, and developing parts of Asia.
  • The program will center on food systems, energy transition, and urban resilience through lenses of justice, innovation, and finance, with Monitor Deloitte as strategic knowledge partner and backing from groups such as the Climate Group, India Climate Collaborative, WRI India, UNICEF, Shakti Foundation, Rainmatter, and others.
  • Organisers plan citywide public engagement including exhibitions, workshops, film and art activities, and a climate food festival, while reports of a Prime Ministerial inauguration remain unconfirmed.
