  • BMC’s disaster cell forecasts tide heights above 4 metres from December 4 to 7 with elevated wave risk along the Arabian Sea coastline.
  • The highest tide is predicted at 5.03 metres at 12:39 am on December 6, with additional highs of 4.96 metres late on December 4 and 5.01 metres early on December 7.
  • Residents and visitors are advised to keep away from the shoreline during listed tide windows and to follow directions from the civic administration and Mumbai Police.
  • Officials will increase lifeguard deployment on beaches as a preventive measure, with one lifeguard stationed for every 100 metres.
  • People traveling for Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Mahaparinirvan Din are urged to exercise caution at coastal locations such as Chaityabhoomi and Shivaji Park, which are part of Mumbai’s 145-km shoreline with 12 public beaches.
