  • An 18-year-old driver, Vyom Manish Poddar, was booked under sections 281 and 125(A) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita after his car rear-ended Sonam Babani’s Mercedes in the northbound Coastal Road tunnel.
  • Sonam Babani, eight months pregnant, sustained injuries to her leg, face, head and back and was treated and discharged from Breach Candy Hospital.
  • Police collected Poddar’s blood samples to check for intoxicants and issued him a summons under section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
