Overview
- The 28-year-old pilot, returning home from south Mumbai to Ghatkopar on June 19, said the cab driver halted the ride, diverted the route and picked up two unknown men who then molested and threatened her.
- Upon spotting a police checkpoint on the highway, both men fled the vehicle and the driver dropped the woman near her residence before fleeing himself.
- A formal complaint was lodged on June 20 and an FIR was registered under sections 75(1) (sexual harassment), 351(2) (criminal intimidation) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
- Sajeed Gulhasan Shaikh, 28, was arrested by Ghatkopar Police on June 22 and remanded to custody until June 23, while investigators pursue two suspects who remain at large.
