Overview

• The Bellasis flyover girder launching is slated to finish by August 10, 2025, keeping a December 15, 2025 opening on course after 13 obstructing structures were removed.
• Sion flyover construction hinges on completing the southern foot over bridge by August 31, 2025, followed by demolition of the old section ahead of a May 31, 2026 completion.
• A joint review meeting chaired by Additional Municipal Commissioner Abhijeet Bangar brought together BMC and Central Railway engineers to monitor progress.
• The western approach at LBS Road is already complete and a second underpass is due to start on October 1 with approach road works leading into early 2026.
• Once operational, the two bridges will bridge Sion’s east and west and enhance links between Tardeo, Nagpada and Mumbai Central.
