  • The India Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow alert for heavy showers as monsoon rains persist in the city.
  • Floodgates shut to block rising seawater have trapped rainwater in neighbourhoods like Bandra and Belapur, flooding streets and disrupting traffic.
  • The season’s highest tide, projected at 4.75 metres, is expected at 12:55 PM on June 26 during the ongoing June 24–28 spell.
  • The June 24–28 tides, each above 4.5 metres, form part of 19 high tide events the BMC expects through September with full schedules released.
  • Civic authorities have urged people to avoid coastal areas and warned housing societies and businesses in flood-prone zones to follow safety protocols.
