Mumbai Auto-Rickshaw Driver Arrested for Alleged Rape of 20-Year-Old Woman

The victim, fearing her family's reaction, reportedly self-inflicted injuries after the alleged assault at Arnala Beach.

A 32-year-old auto-rickshaw driver, Rajratan Wayval, has been detained for allegedly raping a 20-year-old woman in Vasai, Mumbai.
The alleged assault occurred on January 21 at Arnala Beach after the victim met the accused near Vasai railway station.
Following the incident, the woman reportedly inserted stones and a surgical blade into her body, fearing her parents' reaction to the assault.
The victim, who was found unconscious near a Goregaon railway station the next day, is currently receiving treatment for severe injuries at KEM Hospital.
Police investigations are ongoing, with authorities also examining the victim's mental health and previous allegations of assault.
