Mumbai and Thane to Face 10% Water Cut Oct. 7–9 for Pise–Panjrapur Meter Upgrade

Midday replacement of 100 kW meters at the Pise and Panjrapur plants will briefly curb output each day.

Overview

  • The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and Thane Municipal Corporation confirmed a coordinated 10% supply reduction from Tuesday to Thursday.
  • The work window is scheduled daily from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm during the three-day upgrade period.
  • Parts of South Mumbai (A, B, E, F-South, F-North) and the eastern suburbs (M-East, M-West, L, N, S, T) will see reduced supply.
  • Multiple Thane neighbourhoods, including Kopri, Balkum, Pachpakhadi, Naupada and others that draw from BMC sources, are also affected.
  • Residents have been urged to store water and use it judiciously, with normal supply expected to resume on October 10.
