Mumbai Airport Passes 5 Million International Arrivals in January–August 2025

Operator MIAL credits expanded nonstop links alongside strong UAE demand for the rebound.

Overview

  • The UAE led with 1.5 million arrivals, followed by the UK at 0.38 million and Thailand at 0.32 million.
  • Emerging contributors included Colombo with 0.17 million and Kuwait and Dammam with 0.16 million each.
  • On a rolling 12‑month basis from August 2024 to August 2025, CSMIA handled 8.24 million arriving international passengers.
  • Since April 2024 the airport has added routes to Al‑Fujairah, Tashkent, Krabi, Almaty, Amman, Manchester and Tbilisi, taking direct links to 55 destinations.
  • International arrivals have grown at a 21% three‑year CAGR, with Jan–Aug traffic rising from 4.1 million in 2023 to 4.8 million in 2024, as CSMIA also managed 55.12 million total passengers in FY 2024–25 and nearly 1,000 daily movements as the world’s busiest single‑runway airport.
