Mumbai Airport Customs Seize Rs 32-Crore Contraband in Three-Day Crackdown

  • Mohammad Junaid Ansari, 36, was arrested in the 10.09 kg case, admitted to concealment in food packets, and was remanded to judicial custody.
  • Gold seizures comprised 1.55 kg of 24K gold dust in wax concealed in socks on two Dubai arrivals, with two alleged receivers detained outside the airport, plus 109.8 g in bars from a Muscat passenger.
  • Customs also intercepted USD 15,000 from an outbound Dubai flyer, and officials said five passengers were arrested as investigations continue under NDPS and Customs provisions.
