Overview

  • The Elphinstone Road Over Bridge (ROB) is now closed as of April 25, with phased dismantling scheduled through July 10 to make way for the Sewri-Worli Elevated Connector.
  • The Bellasis Bridge is targeted for early completion by November 30, 2025, while the Carnac Bridge and Sion Flyover are set for June 10, 2025, and May 31, 2026, respectively.
  • The Vidyavihar ROB, first proposed in 1991, has faced decades of delays and is now expected to be completed by April 2026.
  • The Vikhroli flyover is 95% complete, with final spans expected by May 31, 2025, while the Gopalkrishna Gokhale Bridge in Andheri is fully ready for its end-of-April opening.
  • BMC and railway teams are coordinating closely to ensure timely progress, avoiding monsoon-related disruptions and addressing traffic bottlenecks across the city.
