• A 19-year-old woman was critically wounded inside a West Garfield Park home late Friday and a person of interest is now in custody.

• Three masked assailants ambushed an off-duty Chicago police officer near her garage in Back of the Yards early Sunday, prompting an exchange of gunfire that left the officer with a minor glass injury.
• Less than an hour after the ambush, firefighters discovered a stolen white Lexus engulfed in flames near 46th and Winchester Avenue, and no further arrests have been reported.
