Overview
- A very large fire at the Almeers Caravan Bedrijf in Almere broke out around 12:30 on Friday, destroyed dozens of caravans, produced a visible smoke plume and was brought under control near 14:00.
- A night wildfire in park De Hoge Veluwe was escalated to the highest response level because of drought, burned roughly 100 by 100 metres and was reported under control in the early morning hours.
- The Remmerdense Heide fire near Rhenen required two pelotons, water-transport and drone teams and was declared under control by 06:35 after burning an area comparable to a small field.
- In the same period tram and train services around Utrecht were disrupted by a smoking tram brake and track faults and farmers’ tractors on the A2 caused long motorway delays, adding strain on emergency and transport operators.
- A burglary at the Vries fire station removed specialist tools that police say have a criminal market and that theft has reduced local readiness while authorities carry out nablussen, damage assessments and reviews of equipment security.
