Multiple Delhi Schools Evacuated After Bomb-Threat Emails

Police and cyber investigators are tracing the origin of the threat emails after anti-sabotage searches cleared campuses and halted exams.

Overview

  • Several schools including The British School, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, Springdales, Air Force Bal Bharati and Army Public School (Dhaula Kuan) were evacuated after they received bomb-threat emails on Tuesday, Sept 15.
  • Bomb detection squads, sniffer dogs and Delhi Fire Services conducted anti-sabotage searches at each campus and have reported no suspicious objects so far.
  • School officials notified parents and pulled students from ongoing half-yearly examinations, with at least one school saying it will assess how to proceed with the remaining tests.
  • Delhi Police activated local bomb-disposal teams and the Cyber Cell has begun forensic analysis of the emails to trace the sender and the message origin.
  • This episode follows a similar cleared threat at Delhi’s Civic Centre on Sept 9, raising concern about a pattern of hoax threats that investigators are now probing for links and legal action.
