Overview
- The wave of violence unfolded late Tuesday into early Wednesday and involved separate incidents across Gage Park, Little Village, West Lawn, South Chicago, West Englewood, South Shore, West Pullman and Greater Grand Crossing.
- In one apartment attack in Greater Grand Crossing an unknown person fired into a hallway, grazing a 13-year-old and critically wounding an 18-year-old who was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center.
- Two people died after separate late-night shootings: a 35-year-old man found in South Shore who later died at the University of Chicago Medical Center and a 43-year-old man found in West Pullman who later died at Christ Hospital.
- Area One, Area Two, Area Three and Area Four detectives are handling the separate scenes, hospitals across the city treated victims in varying conditions, and police have not announced arrests or released suspect descriptions.
