Overview
- Accused No. 14, Pradosh, filed an 11‑page application on Thursday offering a “full and truthful” disclosure of the events around Renukaswamy’s June 2024 death and seeking pardon in return for testimony.
- Special Public Prosecutor Prasanna Kumar submitted a consent memo saying the state has no objection to considering Pradosh as an approver provided his statement is complete, truthful and names the role of every accused.
- Two other defendants, Ravi Shankar (Accused No. 8) and Vinay (Accused No. 10), told the court they will file separate pleas to seek approver status, creating competing applications for the judge to manage.
- Darshan’s defence has objected to the process, saying it was not supplied copies of the plea and arguing that pardon cannot be granted without following CrPC procedure and first recording the applicant’s statement.
- Pradosh has also asked for separate custody and separate video‑conference production citing fear of intimidation, and the court will rule on the approver requests and related protection orders on August 10, a decision that could materially affect the prosecution’s case if any approver testimony is admitted.
