Overview
- Ben, a 47-year-old man, was last seen after telling his family he planned to go rock climbing and was last spoken to around midday on Wednesday, August 5.
- Dyfed-Powys Police say Ben is about 5ft 11in, athletic, with short brown/greying hair and brown eyes and that he was carrying an orange bag and wearing black climbing shoes with an orange strap.
- A large, active operation uses HM Coastguard aircraft including a plane from Humberside, RNLI lifeboats, police specialist teams, a helicopter, drones and volunteer SARS Cymru crews to search sea and shore.
- Police have issued an urgent appeal for anyone who saw or spoke to Ben since midday on August 5 to contact them online, by calling 101, or by emailing 101@dyfed-powys.police.uk.
- The Pembrokeshire coast is rugged and tidal conditions can change quickly, which complicates search work and increases risk for climbers and rescuers operating in the area.
