Overview

  • Operations between July 15 and 22 spanned Assam, Manipur, Maharashtra, Tripura, Delhi and Jammu and led to the seizure of heroin, methamphetamine, hydroponic cannabis, cocaine, codeine syrup and opium.
  • In Assam’s Cachar district, police intercepted a vehicle and recovered 1.22 kg of heroin worth ₹6.22 crore while security forces on the Barak river in Jiribam seized heroin concealed in 616 soap cases and 50,000 methamphetamine tablets valued at ₹76 crore.
  • Customs officers at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport intercepted passengers arriving from Bangkok and departing for Riyadh, confiscating 7.318 kg of hydroponic cannabis and 99 bottles of codeine syrup and arresting four people.
  • Regional teams in Maharashtra’s Thane and Palghar districts detained multiple suspects and recovered quantities of mephedrone, ganja and 111.42 kg of opium from abandoned vehicles and residences.
  • Law enforcement agencies have filed FIRs under the NDPS Act, attached properties and launched financial trail investigations as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle organized trafficking networks.
