Overview
- The Parks Department will host Chipping Weekend on Jan. 10–11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., when visitors can watch trees get chipped and take home mulch.
- DSNY will collect clean, unbagged trees on regular composting collection days, with stands, lights, tinsel, and ornaments removed.
- Mulch will be available at select locations noted with an asterisk on the city’s Mulchfest map.
- Officials are aiming to exceed last season’s total of 52,569 trees recycled.
- Drop-off and chipping sites operate across all five boroughs, including Brooklyn locations such as Pier 3 Plaza, Fort Greene Park, Prospect Park, Domino Park, McCarren Park, and McGolrick Park.
