MTV VMAs to Air on CBS for the First Time in 2025

The iconic awards show will broadcast live from UBS Arena on September 7, with a simulcast on MTV and streaming on Paramount+.

The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards will mark the first time the event is broadcast on CBS, expanding its reach to a major network.
The live ceremony will also be simulcast on MTV and streamed on Paramount+, reflecting a shift toward multi-platform accessibility.
The awards show will air from UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, on Sunday, September 7, from 8:00-11:00 PM ET, with a one-hour pre-show airing across Paramount Media Networks.
The move to CBS follows the success of the 2024 VMAs, which achieved their largest multi-network audience in four years and record social media engagement.
Bruce Gillmer, Jesse Ignjatovic, and Barb Bialkowski will lead the production of the event, with nominations and performers to be announced closer to the broadcast date.
