Overview

• The attack occurred around 10:40 p.m. Monday inside the tunnel at the Nostrand Avenue and Eastern Parkway station in Brooklyn.
• Police said the victim, a 64-year-old MTA employee, was working on power for the No. 3 train when another man approached him.
• A fight began after the worker told the man he could not be in the tunnel, and the assailant slashed the worker in the neck with a knife-like object.
• The suspect, described as wearing a black-and-white T-shirt, ran into the tunnel and has not been located.
• The injured worker was taken to a local hospital and is recovering, and the NYPD is seeking information through Crime Stoppers.
