Overview

• Since March 11, 2024, agencies have seized more than 5,300 vehicles with fake, altered or obscured plates and made about 1,300 arrests.
• Officials reported 2025 totals of 38 operations, 1,893 towed vehicles, roughly $11.5 million in unpaid tolls and fees attributed, and 16,000 summonses by MTA and TBTA officers.
• The coordinated team of 16 agencies now conducts roughly one operation per week, focusing on bridges and tunnels and using license plate readers to flag violations.
• Enforcement actions have also uncovered stolen vehicles and drivers with outstanding warrants, according to participating agencies.
