MTA Board Set to Vote on Fare Hike to Raise Fares to $2.90 Before Summer

NYC subway and bus fares will increase by 5% from $2.75 to $2.90 for subway and bus swipes or taps
Seven-day MetroCards will increase by 3% from $32 to $33.
Monthly MetroCards will increase by 4% from $127 to $132.
Fares for express buses, Long Island Rail Road, and Metro-North will also increase.
The MTA will hold public hearings in June and vote on the final proposal in July, likely putting the higher fares in place prior to Labor Day weekend.
