Overview
- The board approved the package by an 11-0 vote, with changes scheduled to take effect in early January 2026.
- OMNY’s rolling seven-day cap will be $35 and the 30-day unlimited option will be eliminated, with a $17.50 weekly cap for reduced-fare riders.
- Express bus fares will rise to $7.25, LIRR and Metro-North single tickets will increase by an average of about 4.4% (up to 8% on some fares), and weekly and monthly passes will go up 4.5%.
- Commuter-rail one-way tickets will be valid until 4 a.m. the following day and the $1 family fare will cover children 17 and under; West-of-Hudson lines will not see the new fare increases.
- Most MTA bridge and tunnel tolls will increase to $7.46, MetroCard sales will end Dec. 31, and coin payments on buses will be phased out as OMNY becomes fully operational.
