MTA and Transit Museum Publish December Schedule for Holiday Nostalgia Train

Restored 1930s IND cars return as a regular-fare experience.

Overview

  • The seasonal service runs every Sunday in December from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. between 2 Av–Houston St on the F line and 96 St–2 Av on the Q line.
  • Uptown trips depart 2 Av–Houston St at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., while downtown trips leave 96 St–2 Av at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Riders should use the F platform between 2 Av–Houston St and Lexington Av–63 St, then the Q platform between Lexington Av–63 St and 96 St–2 Av.
  • Rides are included with the standard subway fare via OMNY or MetroCard, and operations are weather permitting with timing, routes and equipment subject to change.
  • Eight preserved IND R1/9 cars feature rattan seats, paddle fans, incandescent bulbs, roll signs and period ads, with accessible stops at Broadway–Lafayette St, West 4 St–Washington Sq, 34 St–Herald Sq, 47–50 St–Rockefeller Center, Lexington Av–63 St, 72 St–2 Av, 86 St–2 Av and 96 St–2 Av.
