Overview
- The A line now runs one additional weekday midday round trip to Lefferts Boulevard and one to Far Rockaway, extending eight-minute headways between Inwood–207th Street and Rockaway Boulevard.
- The L line adds four morning peak round trips between 14th Street and Canarsie, including two extra trains between 8 and 9 a.m. that raise throughput from 20 to 22 trains.
- Weekday afternoon service begins four-minute headways about 30 minutes earlier as part of schedule adjustments to better match ridership.
- Weekend timetables were revised so Saturday eight-minute headways extend through 11 p.m., and Sunday four-minute peak service begins two hours earlier, reaching that frequency by 11 a.m.
- The upgrades are part of a four-phase plan to enhance service on 13 lines funded with $35 million in the FY24 state budget, and the MTA says three new traction-power substations enabled the L line increase.
