Transport minister says fast-tracked approvals will enable the state’s largest recycling centre to boost revenue by dismantling ageing vehicles

  • MSRTC will invite private operators to bid on a revenue-sharing model for the new Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility on its 100-acre site in Khuldabad
  • The project follows the central government’s 2021 scrappage policy and Maharashtra’s 2023 adoption of AIS guidelines for scientific vehicle dismantling
  • Transport Department oversight under Pratap Sarnaik promises expedited clearances to move tenders to award and begin construction swiftly
  • Located alongside the Samruddhi Expressway, the facility will serve Mumbai, Vidarbha, north and western Maharashtra for efficient vehicle access
