MSRTC Launches 15% Advance-Booking Discount for Long-Distance Travel

The concession aims to drive off-peak ridership through lower fares on journeys over 150 km booked in advance.

The announcement was made by state transport minister and MSRTC chairman Pratap Sarnaik who further informed that the scheme will be in effect throughout the year, excluding the busy Diwali and summer vacation periods. (H)

  • The 15% price cut takes effect July 1 for full-fare reservations on routes exceeding 150 km outside peak travel periods.
  • Passengers already using other concessions are not eligible and the offer is suspended during Diwali and summer vacation windows.
  • The discount applies across MSRTC’s entire fleet, including regular, semi-luxury, AC Shivneri and premium e-Shivneri services.
