• On Oct. 6, NBC News staff transferring to MSNBC begin their new roles as the channel starts using its own standards guidance.
• That same day, NBC News correspondents stop appearing on MSNBC except for Washington-based talent, whose contributions end Oct. 20.
• After Oct. 20, MSNBC and CNBC leave NBC editorial calls while Versant keeps access to NBC News’ Decision Desk through year-end.
• Versant targets a legal separation from NBCUniversal by Jan. 1, 2026 and will use the fall period to test independent editorial workflows.
