MSEDCL Steps Up Pune Bill Recovery, Targets ₹436 Crore From 8.44 Lakh Defaulters

Defaulters risk disconnection with reconnection fees unless dues are cleared promptly.

  • Official data as of November 6 show 8,44,381 non-agricultural defaulters owing ₹436.49 crore in a service area of over 38 lakh consumers.
  • Division-wise arrears total ₹262 crore from 2,76,943 in Pune Rural, ₹90.44 crore from 2,74,306 in Ganeshkhind City, and ₹84.03 crore from 2,93,132 in Rasta Peth City.
  • Category-wise dues include ₹162.61 crore from 7.12 lakh households, ₹64.17 crore from 1.03 lakh commercial users, ₹27.41 crore from 14,685 low-tension industrial connections, with additional arrears from streetlight, water supply, and public service accounts.
  • MSEDCL warned of disconnections for non-payment with reconnection fees of ₹310 for single-phase and ₹520 for three-phase connections, and promoted QR bill payments, the Mahavitaran app, and the www.mahadiscom.in portal.
