MPD Releases Surveillance Route, Seeks Tips in Temple Israel Bias-Crime Probe

Newly shared footage traces two masked riders near the synagogue as police focus on a narrow early-morning window.

Overview

  • Investigators released images and mapped a route linked to two bicyclists believed to be involved in the Oct. 8 defacement of Temple Israel.
  • Graffiti on the south wall referenced the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks and used symbols that police say normalize violence against the Jewish community.
  • The suspects wore dark hooded sweatshirts, masks, and blue surgical gloves and traveled by bike, according to surveillance video.
  • Cameras captured them arriving via W. 24th St. to Fremont Ave., appearing at W. 25th St. and Humboldt Ave., and last seen heading south at W. 26th St. and Irving Ave.
  • MPD urged residents to review footage from 2–3 a.m. on Oct. 8 and submit tips to [email protected] or 612-673-5845, with anonymous options through CrimeStoppers.
