MPCB Shuts Four RMC Plants in Mumbai Region as Flying Squads Enforce Pollution Norms

Court-directed inspections produced penalties across RMC plants, with corrective orders issued during the latest eight-day sweep.

  • The board issued proposed directions to 59 plants and interim directions to 34 units to implement pollution-control measures.
  • Inspections covered 108 large construction projects, with two sites fined a total of Rs 10 lakh for air-quality violations.
  • Since December 2025, MPCB reports 196 RMC inspections, Rs 3.59 crore in penalties recovered and eight total plant closures, alongside expanded inspection teams and technical guidance to operators.
